Police searching for bomb detonators

PALANGKA RAYA, Central Kalimantan: Police officers were still guarding on Saturday the site where most of the 5,796 electric detonators, which had been stolen earlier this month from a mining company warehouse, were recovered a day earlier.

A total of 5,593 out of total 5,796 detonators have been recovered.

Dozens of police personnel were seen sitting around the location on Jl. Panenga Raya in Sebangau district here, and a police line had been put up at the site.

Other police personnel were busy looking for the other detonators with metal detectors.

The detonators were stolen from the warehouse of Palangka Raya-based mining company PT Hansur Jaya Utama (HJU).

The loss of the detonators has incited fears among the public and security authorities, because they can be used by irresponsible people to make bombs and spread terror. -- Antara
