Joint investigators from the National Police’s Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) and the Special Crimes Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police have taken a further step in investigating three corruption cases.

This time, a shop-house in the Cipete area of South Jakarta was the target of a search on Thursday, 9 July 2026. The search was carried out a day after investigators conducted simultaneous operations at a dozen locations, yielding evidence of extraordinary value, ranging from gold bullion to hundreds of billions of rupiah in cash.

The Head of the Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Chief Commissioner Budi Hermanto, confirmed the follow-up search.

“That’s correct (there was a search),” Budi Hermanto told reporters on Thursday, 9 July 2026.

Nevertheless, Budi has not disclosed details regarding the identity of the shop-house owner or the evidence being sought. He only said the search was still ongoing, so investigators were not yet able to announce its results to the public.

The search is a continuation of the investigation carried out since Wednesday, 8 July 2026. Previously, investigators visited at least 12 locations in Jakarta, South Tangerang and Bogor, including Cafe de’CLAN Signature, Koin Money Changer in Cipete, and a house in the Parahyangan Golf 2 estate in Sentul, Bogor Regency.

From the house in Sentul, investigators found a safe hidden behind a wooden-panelled wall. When opened, the safe contained seven suitcases holding 74 kilogrammes of gold bullion as well as cash in Indonesian rupiah, US dollars and Singapore dollars, with a total value estimated at Rp476 billion.

In addition, investigators secured documents, mobile phones and family photographs, the relevance of which to the case under investigation is still being examined.

Meanwhile, from the searches at Cafe de’CLAN Signature and Koin Money Changer, police also seized cash in various foreign currencies worth tens of billions of rupiah.
