Police Search 12 Locations in Three Corruption Cases, DPR Leadership: We Respect the Process
Jakarta, VIVA – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal admitted he had not yet followed the news regarding raids on a café and money changer in Cipete, South Jakarta, in connection with several suspected corruption cases.
However, he said he supported the law enforcement efforts carried out by law enforcement agencies, whether by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) or the Attorney General’s Office.
“I’m not updated yet. But if it is in the framework of law enforcement, anyone, whether Polri or the Attorney General’s Office,” said Cucun to reporters at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 9 July 2026.
He said each institution has its own mechanisms for combating and enforcing the law in legal cases.
“Whatever it is, we respect it, as each has its own mechanisms in taking law enforcement steps,” said Cucun.
Earlier, Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Chief Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that by Wednesday evening, 8 July 2026, the joint Polri team had completed raids at the de’Clan Signature café and Koin Money Changer in Cipete, South Jakarta.
The raids were related to investigations into suspected money laundering (TPPU) and coal corruption cases involving PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero) and PT Krakatau Steel.
“This is part of the raid activities carried out by the joint team,” said Budi in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.
