Police Search 12 Locations in Three Corruption Cases, DPR Leadership: We Respect the Process
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal has stated he has not yet followed the latest news regarding a search of a café and a money changer in Cipete, South Jakarta, related to several alleged corruption cases. However, he expressed support for law enforcement efforts carried out by the authorities, whether by the Police or the Attorney General’s Office. ‘I have not updated myself. But if it is in the context of law enforcement, whoever it is, whether the Police or the Attorney General’s Office,’ Cucun told reporters at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 9 July 2026. He said each institution has its own mechanisms for eradicating and enforcing legal cases. ‘Whatever it is, we respect how they have their own mechanisms in taking law enforcement steps,’ Cucun said. Previously, the Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that by Wednesday evening, 8 July 2026, a joint police team had completed a search at the de’Clan Signature café and Koin Money Changer in Cipete, South Jakarta. The search is related to investigations into alleged money laundering and coal corruption involving state-owned enterprises PT PLN (Persero), PT Asabri (Persero), and PT Krakatau Steel. ‘This is part of the search activities carried out by the joint team,’ Budi said in a statement received in Jakarta on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the search process is still ongoing at ten other locations, including PT CBS in Cengkareng Timur, West Jakarta; the PT CBS head office in Penjaringan, North Jakarta; PT KNI in Petojo Selatan, Central Jakarta; the residence of MN in Serpong Utara, South Tangerang; the residence of TK in Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta; the DMG/CP Group office in Kuningan, South Jakarta; PT PML in Karet Kuningan, South Jakarta; the residence of DR in Gandaria Selatan, South Jakarta; the residence of MILDK at Pacific Place Apartment, South Jakarta; and a house in Sentul, Bogor Regency.
