The Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police, together with the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, has sealed part of the Cafe de’CLAN Signature in the Cipete area of South Jakarta following a search related to the investigation of three alleged corruption and money laundering (TPPU) cases. The sealing was carried out on the second floor of the building, which has been functioning as an office space. Meanwhile, cafe operations on the ground floor are permitted to continue as normal.

Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the action is part of the investigation process to secure a location believed to be connected to the cases being handled. ‘We are returning operations to the management for the ground floor. But the second floor, which is an office, we are placing under status quo as part of the investigation into alleged corruption,’ Budi told reporters at Cafe de’CLAN on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.

In addition to Cafe de’CLAN Signature, investigators have also placed a status quo order on Koin Money Changer, located in the Cipete area. Budi stated that this step was taken because investigators are still looking into suspected money laundering activities believed to be linked to financial transactions at the location. ‘Yes, we are also placing a status quo on the money changer. We are examining these transactions in relation to the money laundering allegations,’ he said.

Investigators are continuing to trace the connection between the financial transactions occurring at the money changer and the corruption cases under investigation. During the searches at the two locations, investigators seized a number of items for further analysis. The evidence collected includes documents, cash in various currencies, mobile phones, and CCTV footage. Budi stated that all the evidence will be examined using digital forensic methods to uncover its links to the cases being investigated.
