Police Science College Graduates 289 Officers to Strengthen Human Resources
Jakarta - The Police Science College (STIK), operating under the Indonesian National Police, has graduated 289 students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels as a measure to strengthen the quality of human resources within the Bhayangkara Corps. Head of the Police Education and Training Institute, Commissioner General Ridwan Zulkarnain Panca Putra Simanjuntak, stated that this is part of the Police’s efforts to continuously enhance the abilities and knowledge of all police personnel, enabling them to understand and execute their duties effectively through a scientific approach. He made the remarks at the STIK-PTIK building in South Jakarta on Wednesday.
He noted that the education completed by the graduates aligns with the direction and policy of National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo regarding the improvement of police human resources, particularly at the officer level, so they possess the knowledge and capability to meet public expectations. “The National Police Chief hopes that STIK will not only be a place to study various sciences but also a means to understand various social problems through the scientific approaches they learn,” he said.
Upon graduation, the new alumni will be immediately deployed to the field according to their rank and position, allowing them to directly apply the knowledge they have acquired. “They must go into the field to implement the knowledge gained at this institution, which will later be used as an analytical tool to solve societal problems related to police duties, including how to realise security and public order,” he added.
Panca also conveyed that the National Police Chief has advised STIK to continue adapting so that police human resources become increasingly superior. One such step is the development of STIK into a Police University, which is currently under discussion. “STIK must adapt and develop itself into a Police University, which we are currently deliberating, to accommodate not only police officers but also all elements of society who wish to pursue knowledge related to security issues,” he said.
