Police Schedule Examination of YouTuber Bigmo for Monday Afternoon

Jakarta Metropolitan Police have scheduled a summons and examination of a YouTube content creator known as Bigmo in connection with a case involving the promotion of e-cigarettes (vapes) featuring children, on Monday afternoon.

Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, when confirmed in Jakarta on Monday, assured that the police had received confirmation of attendance from the person concerned.

“For Bigmo, the examination is scheduled for today at 13.00 WIB and his attendance has been confirmed through his lawyer,” said Budi.

Budi explained that the process of taking statements or examining the YouTuber would take place in the room of Sub-directorate 2 of the Directorate of Criminal Investigation for the Protection of Women and Children and the Eradication of Trafficking in Persons.

In addition to Bigmo, he said, his party had summoned the complainant with the initials F, who documented the promotional video that allegedly involved children.

“We have requested clarification from the complainant, who filed the complaint, by securing the live stream, the live stream results, video clips, and other supporting documents,” said Budi.

His party has also taken statements from the parents and four children who appeared in the video, accompanied by family members.

“We also visited PT TLI to investigate the working relationship with the reported party. The investigation is still being deepened into the alleged involvement of children in the promotion, as well as analysing digital evidence and related documents,” he said.
