Police are still investigating the death of a man named Sutrimo, who was found in front of a beauty clinic in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta. Officers are combing through CCTV recordings and searching for witnesses connected to the incident.

“We are focusing on the crime scene first. That is where we look for leads, witnesses and evidence, especially CCTV around the scene,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of South Jakarta Metro Police Resort, AKBP Iskandarsyah, when contacted on Monday (27/7/2026).

Iskandarsyah said his team faced obstacles because the crime scene had already been ‘compromised’ by the large number of people passing through since the victim was discovered. The victim was first found on Thursday (23/7).

“From what we know, the crime scene has been compromised for several days now. That is a constraint. People have certainly been walking through there since Thursday,” he said.

Iskandarsyah could not yet provide details about the victim’s exact identity. Police are still carrying out a series of investigative steps.

“After that we will process the crime scene, while we are still corresponding with the hospital to request its records, because the information we received is as such.”

Based on circulating information, the victim was found with foam around his mouth. The victim is said to be the head of household (Karumga) of the former Junior Prosecutor for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah. Police are still investigating the victim’s identity.

“It is still being probed,” said the Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to journalists on Sunday (26/7).

Budi explained that the victim was found unconscious on Thursday (23/7). The victim was then taken by ambulance to Muhammadiyah Taman Puring Hospital and was declared dead.

“Jakarta Metro Police expresses its condolences over the passing of Sutrimo. May the deceased find the best place in the hereafter, and may the family he leaves behind be given strength and fortitude,” said Budi.

Jakarta Metro Police, through its General Crimes Investigation Directorate together with the South Jakarta Metro Police Resort, is conducting the investigation. Police have questioned the victim’s family, the ambulance driver, hospital staff and other parties with knowledge of the incident.

Police are also examining the ambulance booking history, the location where the victim was first found, and other related information. The investigation is ongoing.
