Police say Pasar Rebo stabbing case sparked by momentary emotion
The stabbing of an 18-year-old identified as FK occurred on Jalan Telaga, Pekayon, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta (Jaktim) around 04:30 WIB on 19 May 2026.
The victim, a resident of Cijantung, East Jakarta, was attacked by two suspects, NE and DS, both 18, residents of Areman, Depok, West Java.
The incident happened at Jalan Telaga RT 13 RW 09, Kelurahan Pekayon, Kecamatan Pasar Rebo, Jakarta Timur.
According to Police Chief AKP I Wayan Wijaya of Pasar Rebo Police Sector, the two suspects did not accept the victim’s shouts. They returned home to fetch a celurit (a curved blade) and then confronted the victim again.
“The perpetrator immediately swung the celurit at the victim and struck him on the head, specifically on the right side of the forehead,” he said.
After the stabbing, the suspects fled the scene, leaving the victim bleeding.
Pasar Rebo Police Station then received a report from RSUD Pasar Rebo about a stabbing victim with the celurit still embedded in the head. Police went to the hospital to verify.
The victim was subsequently referred to RS Polri Kramat Jati for surgery. “Alhamdulillah the victim is not critical. After surgery he is now in recovery,” said Wijaya.
From the investigation, police identified the perpetrators and arrested both within less than 24 hours of the incident. They were secured at their home in Depok.
In this case, police seized evidence including a celurit blade, a black sweater, trousers, and the victim’s visum luka. Police confirmed the stabbing was not influenced by alcohol or narcotics.
“From the perpetrators’ own confessions and the smell of their breath there is no evidence of intoxication. It was purely due to emotion and a misunderstanding at the time of the incident,” said Wijaya.
For their actions, the two are charged under Article 466 or Article 466 in conjunction with Article 20 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment.
