Police: Ruben Onsu to Be Questioned as Fraud Suspect Next Week
South Jakarta Metropolitan Police have scheduled questioning of Ruben Onsu as a suspect in an alleged fraud and/or embezzlement case next week.
However, South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head AKP Joko Adi Wibowo has not disclosed in detail when the questioning will take place, including whether a summons for questioning has been issued.
“We only recently named him as a suspect, so of course we will schedule a summons for him in his status as a suspect. We will likely schedule the questioning next week,” Joko told reporters on Thursday (20/8).
The case involving Ruben was elevated to the investigation stage on 25 April 2026. During the investigation, investigators have also questioned a number of witnesses for information.
“At the investigation stage, investigators have questioned several witnesses, more than six witnesses, including expert witnesses,” Joko said.
Previously, South Jakarta Metropolitan Police named celebrity Ruben Onsu as a suspect in an alleged fraud and/or embezzlement case.
Ruben was named a suspect based on the results of a case review conducted by investigators from the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
“A few days ago a case review was held, and from that case review, the participants agreed that the reported party, RSO, should have his status changed to suspect. A suspect determination letter was then issued,” Joko told reporters.
The case involving Ruben originated from police report number LP310/VIII/2025/SPKT/Polres Jakarta Selatan dated 22 August 2025. The report was filed by a person with the initial P, and the victim is DM.
According to the report, Ruben offered the victim an investment opportunity. The victim was attracted because a number of profits were promised.
“The victim was then interested in entering into an agreement with the reported party. An agreement was then made in which the victim handed over a sum of capital, with a promised profit arrangement,” Joko said.
“When the agreed time arrived, the profits had not been received and the capital had not been returned. That is why the victim reported this incident to South Jakarta Police,” he continued.
There has been no statement from Ruben Onsu’s side regarding this case. Ruben’s legal counsel, Minola Sebayang, when contacted said he was not yet aware of the case and asked CNNIndonesia.com to contact Ruben Onsu directly.
