The Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has foiled an attempt to smuggle 325 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, believed to be part of an international Thailand-Indonesia network, through the waters of Aceh. Two suspects involved in the distribution of the illicit drugs were arrested.

Meanwhile, the National Police’s Task Force for Law Enforcement on Smuggling (Satgas Gakkum Lundup) has managed to save state finances amounting to nearly Rp1 trillion from various illegal import cases. The task force was established by National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo in April 2026.

In a separate development, a people’s market and bazaar for micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) organised by the police to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Bhayangkara was swarmed by residents in Cikarang, Bekasi Regency, West Java.

On the legislative front, member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Adang Daradjatun is urging investigators to further develop the case of an international online gambling network operating at the Hayam Wuruk Plaza Tower in Jakarta.

Additionally, Deputy Chair of Commission IX of the DPR RI Nihayatul Wafiroh has strongly condemned the alleged intimidation of doctor Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, known as Dr Icha, by two members of the North Central Timor Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) in East Nusa Tenggara, identified by the initials NT and TL.
