Police reveal why Richard Lee skipped the investigation summons, but went live on TikTok

Jakarta, VIVA – The Metro Jaya Regional Police disclosed the reasons Richard Lee skipped two summons for questioning in a case involving violations in the health and consumer protection sectors.

Public Relations Head of the Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said that Richard Lee did not attend an additional examination on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

Budi said that at the time Richard did not provide a reason for his unavailability to the investigators and instead carried out a live broadcast on his TikTok account on the same day.

He said Richard Lee admitted to investigators that he chose to go live on his TikTok account to promote a product from Athena CV.

“That person conducted live TikTok activities on his own account for the purpose of promoting a product of CV Athena as part of his work,” Budi said in a statement on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

In addition to missing the examination, Budi said Richard Lee also failed twice to carry out the mandatory reporting duties as a suspect. Therefore, the investigators deem that the person has sought to obstruct the investigation.

“Essentially, he does not reflect a citizen who obeys and respects the law,” he concluded.
