Police Reveal 'Whip Pink' Produced in North Jakarta Sold to Nightlife Venues
The Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the Indonesian National Police has dismantled a ‘Whip Pink’ production operation in Jakarta and named two individuals as suspects. Bareskrim stated that the Whip Pink is suspected to have been sold to several nightlife venues.
‘In the course of its sale, we found it was not only for consumption with food, but we also discovered it in several entertainment venues, where we found the same canisters and also sales receipts from PT SSS to the entertainment venues,’ said Senior Commissioner Zulkarnain Harahap, Head of Sub-Directorate III of the Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Directorate, in a statement on Friday (24/7/2026).
The Whip Pink sold in nightlife venues is suspected to have been used by patrons. Zulkarnain stated that the Whip Pink was allegedly inhaled using small balloons. ‘At these entertainment venues, it was sold for use by patrons. The method of use involves small balloons, so it is inhaled,’ he said.
Zulkarnain added that several individuals had also purchased Whip Pink from the factory in North Jakarta. The method of using Whip Pink was also uploaded by a social media account. ‘Furthermore, we found several other victims who made purchases to enjoy it. This includes content on a social media platform that uploaded instructions on how to use it,’ he stated.
Police uncovered the Whip-Pink production case in Jakarta, with two people named as suspects. Police raided the nitrous oxide (N2O) Whip-Pink production house in Jakarta on 13 April 2026. At that time, Bareskrim secured hundreds of ready-to-distribute Whip-Pink canisters.
The Bareskrim Narcotics Crime Sub-Directorate III team conducted raids at two locations: a shop house on Gang Mantri, Kemayoran, and a warehouse on Jalan Rajawali Selatan Raya, Gunung Sahari Utara, Pademangan District, North Jakarta.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim, stated that the action was taken following the rampant misuse of the Whip-Pink brand N2O. He said the Sub-Directorate III team conducted an undercover buy to ascertain the product’s collection point.
During the raid, police found a man with the initials SU (56), who was the stock keeper and delivery person. Based on SU’s interrogation, the team moved to a second location and secured four men: ST, Sul, Sup, and AS, who were employees producing Whip-Pink.
Officers also seized evidence including machines for filling N2O gas from large canisters weighing 27 kg, 30 kg, and 32 kg into small Whip-Pink branded canisters weighing 580 grams, 640 grams, 950 grams, 1,320 grams, and 2,050 grams. Police also detained a woman with the initial E at a rented house in Pulogadung, East Jakarta, who served as the sales admin and accountant for Whip-Pink products.
Most recently, Bareskrim named Andy Hioe and Jasen Hioe, the bosses of the Whip Pink factory in Central Jakarta, as suspects. Both are suspected of producing and distributing medical supplies or pharmaceutical preparations that do not meet standards. ‘The examination of Andy Hioe and Jasen Hioe is currently underway as they comply with the second summons as suspects,’ Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso told reporters on Wednesday (22/7).
