Deputy Head of the Education and Training Agency (Wakalemdiklat) of Polri, Inspector General Andi Rian, revealed several violations up to cases of death that occurred during the education process throughout 2025. “As a form of transparency, we report problematic trainees in 2025,” said Andi during a hearing with Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the parliamentary complex on Thursday (2/4). He detailed that at the Police Academy (Akpol), one trainee was expelled due to deviant behaviour. Andi did not provide further explanation on the behaviour in question. Then at the Police Science College (STIK), 57 trainees received sanctions of reduced mental scores for provenly altering exam grades. “Four trainees were indicated to be using narcotics and four trainees used proxies in the examination process,” said Andi. Andi explained that at the Brimob Education Centre (Pusdik), there was a trainee dismissed due to theft and narcotics cases. Besides violations, Polri also recorded trainees who passed away during the education process. At Akpol, one female trainee died from heat stroke. Then two trainees at Stupa and one at the Sabhara Education Centre (Pusdik Sabhara) were reported dead from heart attacks. “One personnel at Pusdik Brimob due to gastric acid and one personnel at the Papua Police School (SPN Papua) due to pneumonia and HIV infection,” he stated. He emphasised that these trainee death incidents serve as material for evaluation for Polri. “This is a major evaluation for health supervision in the selection process,” he said.
