Police Reveal Pedal Padel Employee Was Held Captive for 3 Days in Lift and Warehouse
Police have revealed that an employee of Pedal Padel in South Jakarta, who was accused of stealing a racket, was held captive in two rooms. The rooms used by the perpetrator to confine the victim were a lift and a warehouse. “The confinement took place in those two rooms. Initially, he was in the lift, then he was moved to the warehouse next door,” said South Jakarta Metro Police Resmob Unit Head, First Inspector Satrio, to reporters on Monday (6/7/2026). Satrio stated that the confinement lasted for three days across both rooms. “So, the confinement was carried out for three days, yes,” he clarified. Police also disclosed the origins of the employee’s confinement. Initially, the perpetrator only intended to interrogate the victim regarding the alleged racket theft, but the process became protracted because the victim was considered to be giving convoluted statements. “It was not planned initially; they just wanted to interrogate him. Then, because the process was perhaps a bit convoluted, he ended up being detained for too long,” he said. “Perhaps he (the perpetrator) wanted to find out where the racket was sold and so forth. So, perhaps the victim himself was not explaining clearly, which resulted in the interrogation taking a long time,” Satrio continued. Currently, police have conducted a crime scene investigation to delve deeper into the case. A number of pieces of evidence have also been seized from the scene. “As it is deemed sufficient, from this crime scene we have taken evidence, both blood samples and the tools used to confine the victim,” Satrio concluded.
