JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Police have revealed the identities of two individuals suspected of being involved in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of KontraS.

Director of General Criminal Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Iman Imanudin, displayed photos of the two suspected perpetrators whose faces were captured on CCTV cameras.

“We suspect that the two individuals we are showing from one Police data have the initials BHC and MAK,” Iman said during a press conference at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Based on CCTV tracing results, police suspect there were more than four perpetrators.

“However, from the investigation results, it does not rule out the possibility that there were more than four perpetrators as mentioned previously,” he explained.

Previously reported, Andrie Yunus was doused with acid by unknown individuals on Thursday night (12/3/2026).

The incident occurred at 23:37 WIB while Andrie Yunus was riding a motorbike on Jalan Salemba I-Talang, Senen, Central Jakarta.

As he passed the location, two perpetrators riding a motorbike believed to be a Honda Beat model from 2016 to 2021 approached the victim from the opposite direction on Jalan Talang (Talang Bridge).

The first perpetrator, acting as the rider, was wearing a white-blue combination T-shirt, dark trousers believed to be jeans material, and a black helmet.

One of the perpetrators then splashed acid towards the victim, hitting parts of his body.

Andrie suffered burns on his right and left hands, face, chest, and eyes.
