Police reveal 32 stab wounds in toddler murder case following autopsy

Police have revealed new details in the murder case of a two-year-old toddler by his uncle, G (18), in Jatisampurna, Bekasi, West Java. According to autopsy results from the police hospital, the child suffered 32 stab wounds.

“The autopsy report from the police hospital shows a total of 32 stab wounds on the victim,” said Kompol Andi Muhammad Iqbal, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Bekasi City Metropolitan Police, to reporters on Friday (29 May 2026).

G has been formally named as a suspect. Andi stated that before killing his nephew, G claimed to have heard voices.

“Besides being mentally disturbed, the suspect also admitted to hearing voices and wanting to meet God immediately,” he said.

Andi explained that no one else was present at the rented house during the murder. The victim’s grandmother was not at home at the time.

“During the incident, the suspect and victim were usually alone, but at the rented house, there were three people: the grandmother, the suspect, and the victim,” he added.

G is currently detained by the Bekasi City Metropolitan Police. He faces charges under Article 80 paragraph 3 of Law No. 35 of 2014 on Child Protection, subsidiary Article 458 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) under Law No. 1 of 2023, with a maximum penalty of 15 years imprisonment or a fine of Rp13 billion.
