Police Return Vehicle to Victim of Embezzlement Case, Immediately Used for Eid Homecoming

A man in East Ciputat, South Tangerang, fell victim to fraud and embezzlement involving a Daihatsu Grandmax pickup truck. The police returned the pickup truck to the victim as it was intended to be used for Eid homecoming travel.

The handover of the vehicle took place at the Ciputat Timur Police Station headquarters on Tuesday (17/3/2026). Ciputat Timur Police Chief Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq, along with Ciputat Timur Criminal Investigation Unit Chief Iptu Akhmad Kholil Effendi, handed over the evidence item to the victim.

Bambang stated that the handover of the vehicle evidence to the victim was carried out using the Vehicle Loan Mechanism. The evidence was not fully returned as the case investigation process was still ongoing.

“The handover of the vehicle evidence was done using the Vehicle Loan Mechanism because the case investigation process is still ongoing,” he explained on Wednesday (18/3/2026).

Bambang continued that the evidence was handed over to the victim because the vehicle owner wanted to use it for Eid homecoming.

“The handover of the vehicle evidence was because the victim/vehicle owner wanted to use the vehicle for Eid homecoming,” he said.
