Tangerang, Kompas.com - Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police have applied for an Interpol Red Notice against a woman identified as LA, who is listed as a person of interest (DPO). LA is suspected of being a recruitment figure in a case involving the illegal dispatch of Indonesian prospective migrant workers (CPMI) to Cambodia. Soekarno-Hatta AirportPolice Chief, Police Commissioner Wisnu Wardana, stated the Red Notice request was made because LA allegedly fled abroad after the case came to light. ‘LA, known to be from Bangka Belitung, is suspected to have fled abroad after being designated as a DPO,’ Wardana said in a written statement on Thursday (28 May 2026). Police believe CPMi candidates were lured with offers of online gambling administrator positions promising up to Rp 10 million per month. Wardana added that investigations into the irregular CPMi dispatch network abroad will continue. ‘We are committed to pursuing recruiters and coordinators of the illegal CPMi network, including possible suspects abroad through international cooperation and Red Notice applications,’ he said. Meanwhile, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Criminal Investigation Unit Chief, Police Commissioner Yandri Mono, said the case was exposed after information about two female CPMi individuals departing via Terminal 3 International at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Saturday (17 January 2026). The two CPMi, identified as AG from Garut and SP from North Jakarta, were scheduled to travel on TransNusa Airlines from Jakarta to Kuala Lumpur before proceeding to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. ‘Based on interviews, both admitted being recruited via social media and a WhatsApp group named “Liburaaannnnn”’, Mono said. During the investigation, police also arrested a man identified as RR, suspected of aiding the CPMi departure process at the airport. ‘RR allegedly arranged travel tickets, guided departure procedures, and connected CPMi with those who assisted check-in and immigration checks at the airport,’ Mono explained.
