Bekasi District, West Java — Indonesia’s National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas Polri) reported that approximately 25 per cent of vehicles had left Jakarta on Sunday, the third day of Operation Ketupat 2026.

“On the toll roads, so far approximately 25 per cent have already left Jakarta, whether heading to Trans Java, Bandung, or Sumatra,” said National Police Traffic Corps Chief (Kakorlantas) Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho at the Command Centre post at KM 29 Cikampek Toll Road, Bekasi District, West Java, on Sunday.

He also noted that traffic flow conditions until Sunday afternoon remained sufficiently controlled with no notable congestion appearing.

Regarding vehicle queue congestion at Gilimanuk Port in Bali, he stated that Korlantas had coordinated with the Transport Ministry to ease the vehicle congestion. According to him, the congestion resulted from sailing time restrictions between Idul Fitri and Nyepi holidays.

“It is likely that people will prioritise the crossing, whether from Ketapang or Gilimanuk. However, the Transport Ministry has prepared additional ships to anticipate this,” he said.

Furthermore, the two-star general ensured that Operation Ketupat 2026 focused not only on securing traffic but also on ensuring the safety of holiday-makers departing from their homes to their hometowns.

“We guarantee that departures during the homecoming period are safe until arrival, and when people meet their families they must be happy, and their return home must be safe,” he said.

Operation Ketupat 2026 runs for 13 days, from 13 March to 25 March 2026, involving 161,243 combined personnel. The National Police has prepared 2,746 posts comprising 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts serving as information and service centres for travellers.

Security will also focus on 185,607 sites including mosques, Idul Fitri prayer locations, tourist attractions, shopping centres, terminals, ports, railway stations, and airports.
