Police report 21 poll violations
MATARAM, West Nusa Tenggara: Police have reported at least 21
poll violations during six days of campaigning in the province
since Thursday.
Spokesman of West Nusa Tenggara Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Basri
said that most of the cases concerned parties that had not
informed the police of where they would campaign and who would
campaign for them.
He said, among other measures, police personnel had dispersed
campaigns which violated the law.
Basri said that police had also ticketed hundreds of party
members, who had violated traffic regulations. -- JP
