Police Remain Tight-Lipped on Owner of 74 kg of Gold Found at Febrie's House
The police have yet to disclose the owner of the gold discovered at the residence of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. The ownership of the 74 gold bars is still being investigated.
Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, acknowledged that the former Jampidsus did not deny that the search location at Parahyangan Golf 2 in the Sentul area, Bogor, West Java, was his house. However, Febrie stated that the gold bars, totalling approximately 74 kilograms, have an owner.
“Oh yes, that relates to the investigation material. So we cannot convey that to you yet. The joint investigation team is still working,” he said at Polda Metro Jaya on Monday (13/7/2026).
According to Budi, his party will conduct tests on all evidence seized from searches at 12 locations. Afterwards, the evidence will be handed over to the Attorney General’s Office, as the case will be transferred to that institution.
“So everything about the case will be handed over for further investigation to the Attorney General’s Office, but the process regarding the suspects and evidence, including documents and case files, will be carried out in stages,” Budi said.
It is known that a joint team from the Police Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas Tipidkor) and the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya conducted searches at 12 locations from Wednesday (8/7/2026) to Friday (10/7/2026). One of the locations searched was a house in the Sentul area, which was later acknowledged as belonging to Febrie.
From that house, police found 74 gold bars. In addition, police also seized cash amounting to USD 4,767,300, SGD 14,083,800, and Rp 100 million, along with two framed family photos as evidence.
Meanwhile, from various other locations, police also seized cash, documents, mobile phones, and computers. From the various searches, the police investigation team seized a total of Rp 541 billion in cash and 74 kilograms of gold bullion.
Head of the Police Kortas Tipidkor, Inspector General Totok Suhatyanto, stated that the seizure was part of an investigation into alleged corruption and money laundering offences. The search in Sentul was part of a series of searches at several locations in Jakarta and its surroundings related to investigations into several corruption cases, including alleged corruption at PT PLN, PT Asabri, PT Krakatau Steel, and the settlement of PT CBS’s debt to PT KNI.
Responding to the search, Febrie confirmed that the house in Sentul is his private residence, which he has owned for a long time. However, he was not yet willing to explain the ownership of the 74 kilograms of gold or the cash found by investigators at the house.
According to Febrie, all existing assets can be accounted for through the applicable legal mechanisms. He stated that the items found have owners and are related to a number of activities that will be explained in the appropriate legal forum, not through statements to the media.
