JAKARTA - The National Police Reform Acceleration Commission (KPRP) is advocating for improvements in police services, including the issuance of Police Clearance Certificates (SKCK) and Driving Licence services, to be conducted online. KPRP Secretary General, retired Police General Ahmad Dofiri, stated that the current SKCK services are running reasonably well but require further enhancement. “Regarding the spotlighted services in the SIM and SKCK domains, the SKCK is already good and will be even better moving forward. The system will be endeavoured to be fully online,” said Dofiri during a press conference in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/5/2026). According to Dofiri, reforms in police services constitute one of the fundamental recommendations that must be implemented promptly. In the field of law enforcement, the KPRP has highlighted the handling of public reports, which is deemed slow and lacking in transparency. From the receipt of police reports to the investigation process, delays often occur, leaving complainants unaware of case developments. “The recommendations here, starting from the examination stage, must be supported by technology, with CCTV and video recordings, so that there are records,” he emphasised. “Investigations must head in that direction. So the public can access it directly. Eventually, if this is implemented, ‘Where is my case at?’ ‘The investigator has progressed to this point.’ Something like that,” he added firmly. “So, regarding the delays earlier, it means eliminating cases that drag on without knowing when they will be resolved and so forth,” he continued.
