Police Reconstruct Mutilation Case of Man in Depok, Suspect Saepul Presented

Police have conducted a reconstruction of the murder and dismemberment of a man with the initials K (51) at a rented house in the Cipayung area of Depok City. The suspect, Saepul (26), was presented at the location.

Based on observations in Cipayung Jaya on Tuesday (11/8/2026), Saepul was brought to the scene wearing an orange prison uniform. His hands appeared to be bound with cable ties.

Police had cordoned off the area with police line to prevent residents from approaching the location. Much of the reconstruction took place on the second floor of the rented house. The reconstruction was still ongoing as of 11.49 Western Indonesia Time.

Saepul (26) was named a suspect after killing and dismembering a man with the initials K (51) at a rented house in the Cipayung area of Depok City. Saepul has been charged with premeditated murder.

“The articles applied to the perpetrator are, first, premeditated murder and/or murder,” said Ipda Breggy Yesaya Imanuel Sutijono, Head of Special Crimes Unit 2, Sub-Directorate of Violent Crimes, Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, in his statement on Sunday (9/8).

Saepul is charged under Article 459 and/or Article 458 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life imprisonment.

“As stipulated in Article 459 and/or Article 458 of the Criminal Code, with a maximum criminal penalty of death and/or life imprisonment,” he explained.
