Police Reconstruct Harrowing Moments as Little Aresha Daycare Babies Were Bound by Carers

A total of 23 scenes were re-enacted by 13 suspects during a reconstruction of the alleged abuse case at Little Aresha Daycare in the Umbulharjo district of Jogja today. The reconstruction lasted three and a half hours.

Jogja City Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Kompol Riski Adrian, stated that originally only 17 scenes were scheduled for the reconstruction. However, prosecutors requested an additional six scenes.

“So, more or less, the reconstruction took three and a half hours,” Adrian said after the reconstruction concluded on Tuesday.

“Initially there were around 17 scenes, but based on the findings from the prosecutors and investigators, there were additional scenes, namely six more,” he continued.

Adrian explained that the six additional scenes were actually breakdowns of the 17 core scenes. Investigators and Public Prosecutors deemed it necessary to delve deeper into the roles of each suspect.

“The prosecutors asked for more detail so that the intention of the perpetrators to commit violence against the babies or victims becomes more visible,” Adrian stated.

“From the results of the reconstruction, it is clearly visible that the intentions of the suspects were indeed deliberate and there were instructions from the head of the foundation. The prosecutors have also gained more confidence to charge the suspects with severe penalties,” he added.

The 23 scenes depicted the entire sequence of events. This ranged from parents dropping off their children at the daycare to the final scene of parents picking up the children.

“However, the emphasis was indeed on the process of binding or the acts of violence committed by the suspects against the victims,” he revealed.

“The violence included tying them up, and there was also a scene where a baby, already bound, was placed in bed in a supine position,” concluded Adrian.
