Police Receive Report on Spread of Video Showing Maggot-Infested Bread in Central Lombok's Free Nutritious Meal Programme
Mataram (ANTARA) - Central Lombok Resort Police in West Nusa Tenggara have received a report from a resident concerning the dissemination of video content showing bread in Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) packages that is suspected to contain maggots.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Central Lombok Resort Police, AKP Punguan Hutahaean, in Central Lombok on Sunday, confirmed the existence of the report.
“Yes, it was just reported. We are still awaiting instructions from the leadership,” he said.
He explained that the complainant in this case is Baiq Restu Tunggal Kencana, who is reporting Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) named Alman Putra.
Punguan added that previously, Baiq Restu had been reported by Alman for alleged violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE). However, after a case review, the police found no criminal elements in that report.
“The case was terminated because it did not meet the elements and in accordance with the Constitutional Court Decision Number 105 of 2024,” he stated.
“We are reporting under Article 317 of the Criminal Code on false reporting, Article 335 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, and Article 311 of the Criminal Code on defamation,” he said.
He mentioned that the report was filed because his client felt materially and morally harmed by the previous report, which has now been halted by the police.
According to him, the case also impacted the psychological condition of his client and her family, including the child who accompanied her during the examination process.
“Field facts show that the food distributed by SPPG of Ketara Village indeed is suspected to contain maggots,” he said.
