Police Receive Peace Letter in Ruben Onsu Alleged Fraud Case
South Jakarta Metropolitan Police have received a peace agreement in the alleged fraud and embezzlement case that named celebrity Ruben Onsu as a suspect.
The peace was reached between Ruben and the reporting party. Both agreed to settle the matter amicably.
“The first document is a peace agreement between the two parties. Who? Namely the reporting party and the reported party. The essence of the letter is that the case is to be resolved through family deliberation, and the key point is that both parties agreed to settle the case amicably,” said South Jakarta Metropolitan Police Public Relations Head AKP Joko Adiwibowo to reporters on Monday (31/8).
In addition to the peace letter, police also received a withdrawal of the police report from the reporting party. Investigators then responded to the agreement reached by both parties.
“The second document, which serves as the basis for the peace agreement, is a letter withdrawing the police report made by the reporting party, namely Mr P. And of course the investigators responded positively to the agreement between the two parties,” he said.
Joko said the case will now be directed towards resolution through a restorative justice mechanism. Investigators will conduct a case review as part of the process to determine the termination of the investigation.
“These two letters have of course been received by investigators, and with these letters the case will now be handled through restorative justice. In the restorative justice stages, after restorative justice the investigators will conduct a case review, the ultimate aim of which is to terminate the investigation,” he said.
“If the case is resolved, then going forward, once the case is concluded, the report will be withdrawn and there will also be an SP3, a termination of investigation,” he added.
