The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has received an award from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) for its contribution to the organisation of the 1447 Hijri/2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

“We thank the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for this award given to Polri,” said Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General Johnny Edison Isir, in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday.

Isir said the award was the result of the hard work and collaboration of all Polri personnel with relevant ministries and agencies in supporting the Hajj pilgrimage.

“This award is an honour as well as a sign of trust in the synergy that has been well established during the Hajj pilgrimage,” he said.

Therefore, he said Polri would strengthen synergy with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other stakeholders in the field of Hajj pilgrimage operations.

Furthermore, he said Polri would improve the quality of its service to the public.

“Polri is committed to continuing to provide a sense of security through optimal security measures, protection for pilgrims, strengthening cross-sector coordination, and professional, proportional, and fair law enforcement,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf viewed the success of this year’s Hajj pilgrimage as the result of collaboration among all stakeholders.

According to him, the synergy built between ministries/agencies, local governments, and various supporting elements is an important foundation for delivering Hajj services that are increasingly professional, responsive, and oriented towards pilgrim satisfaction.

Polri played an active role in supporting various stages of the Hajj pilgrimage. It was also involved in the Task Force for the Prevention and Enforcement of Illegal Hajj.
