Police raids successful
BANDUNG, West Java: The West Java police confiscated nearly 400,000 bottles of illegal liquor, 280 sharp weapons and 14 envelopes containing marijuana in various raids during the past two weeks. Police also stumbled across a counterfeit pharmaceutical factory in Bandung.
West Java Police Chief Maj. Gen. Rukman Saminudin said the next operation will target nightclubs, discotheques and other entertainment centers that have had more than their share of disturbances.
The raids led to the detention of 41 people. Eighteen of them have since been released while the others are still being investigated. (pet/07)
