Police Raid Villa 'Headquarters' for Illegal LPG Adulteration in Bogor, Hundreds of Cylinders Seized

The raid took place around 00:30 WIB early this morning. Eka said one person was secured during the raid. “In the operation, the police secured one suspected perpetrator with initials AD, a 41-year-old man,” he explained. Several pieces of evidence were also secured during the raid. Among them were hundreds of gas cylinders of various sizes, as well as a truck vehicle suspected to be used for operations. “The evidence seized includes 370 three-kilogram subsidised gas cylinders, 90 twelve-kilogram gas cylinders, two truck vehicles, and several tools suspected to be used for mixing,” he said. Before the raid was carried out, a box truck containing twelve-kilogram gas cylinders and one box truck containing three-kilogram cylinders were found. “This case is being handled under Article 55 of Law Number 22 of 2001 on Oil and Earth Gas as amended by Article 40 number 9 of Law Number 6 of 2023 on Job Creation, with a penalty of six years’ imprisonment,” he stated. Currently, the police are still conducting further investigations into the case. One of them is to find the network and other parties suspected of being involved. “This raid is a response to residents’ concerns about the misuse of subsidised gas that harms the community entitled to receive it,” he concluded.
