Police Raid Uncovers Drug Syndicate Operating in Samarinda for Four Years
“This syndicate has been operating for about four years,” said AKBP Bayu Putra Samara, Head of Unit 2, Sub-Directorate 4, Directorate of Narcotics Crime Investigation (Dittipid Narkoba) at Bareskrim Polri, to reporters at the Bareskrim Polri building in South Jakarta on Saturday (16/5/2026).
Bayu stated that this drug syndicate was quite elusive. According to him, the suspects had several times escaped when police attempted to arrest them. However, this time, they were all successfully apprehended.
“This syndicate is quite elusive because local police have conducted operations several times, but without success,” he said.
The arrests were carried out by Unit 4 along with the NIC Task Force of the Directorate of Narcotics Crime Investigation (Dittipid Narkoba) at Bareskrim Polri. Bayu mentioned that a complete explanation regarding the disclosure of this case would be provided directly by the Director of Narcotics Crime Investigation (Dirtipid Narkoba) at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso.
Currently, the 11 members of the drug syndicate in Samarinda have been taken to Bareskrim Polri. They arrived at Bareskrim in a Hiace vehicle. The identities of the suspects are as follows:

Upon arriving at the Bareskrim building, these 11 members of the drug syndicate were seen walking with a limp as they got out of the car. Their legs were bandaged because they had been subjected to measured firm action by the police.
The suspects’ hands were also tied with cable ties. They were immediately escorted into the elevator to undergo examination in the Directorate of Narcotics Crime Investigation (Dittipid Narkoba) at Bareskrim Polri.
In addition to bringing in the 11 suspects, the police also brought out several pieces of evidence that were tied together using yellow tape. There were also several large bags and suitcases that were taken out of the car.
