Police Raid Uncovers Coded Illegal Alcohol Sales at Solo's Lokananta
An outlet in the Lokananta area of Solo was raided by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) for brazenly selling illegal alcohol in cup packaging. A total of 193 cups containing alcoholic beverages were seized.
Head of the Solo City Satpol PP, Didik Anggono, revealed that the investigation was launched following a brawl near the back stands of the Lokananta complex. “For approximately one week, Satpol PP gathered information covertly to confirm the activity of selling alcoholic beverages without a permit,” he said on Monday.
The investigation led officers to an outlet called Ruang Bahagia. Didik stated that the outlet had been under surveillance and was subsequently subjected to enforcement action. Further probing uncovered that the outlet was selling class B and C alcoholic drinks packaged in cups.
“From the investigation, drinks from bottles were poured into cups and only given specific codes or initials referring to their type and brand. Transactions were also conducted without receipts or official records,” he explained. “During the operation, officers secured 193 cups of alcoholic beverages of various types and brands,” Didik added.
