Police Raid RSKJ Soeprapto Bengkulu Over Hiring of 93 Non-Civil Servants

Bengkulu (ANTARA) - A team of investigators from the Corruption Crime Directorate of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Bengkulu Provincial Police conducted searches at the Soeprapto Special Mental Hospital (RSKJ) and the Provincial Financial and Asset Agency of Bengkulu Province in connection with alleged corruption in the recruitment of non-civil servant (non-ASN) personnel.

The Deputy Head of the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Bengkulu Provincial Police, Commissioner Muhammad Syahir Fuad Rangkuti, stated in Bengkulu on Tuesday that the searches were part of the investigative process to gather and strengthen evidence.

“This is a series of investigative processes carried out by investigators regarding the case,” he said.

Based on preliminary investigation results, during the 2023-2024 period, the management of RSKJ Soeprapto allegedly recruited a total of 93 non-ASN personnel in stages.

The recruitment took place after the government issued Government Regulation No. 49 of 2018 on the Management of Government Employees with Work Agreements and Law No. 20 of 2023 on Civil Servants, which prohibit appointing non-ASN personnel by personnel management officials.

“The regulation states that personnel management officials are prohibited from appointing non-ASN employees, yet it was still carried out,” he said.

“In the appointment process, the management allegedly used two methods, namely payments of certain amounts of money and accommodating referrals from certain parties,” he added.

The search lasted approximately six hours. Investigators seized several documents, files, and electronic devices, which were subsequently taken to the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate office of the Bengkulu Provincial Police for further examination.
