Police Raid Rented House Used as Stolen Motorcycle Warehouse, Five Suspects Arrested

The Tangerang City Metro Police have uncovered a practice of storing stolen motorcycles in a rented house in Kampung Bugel, Kaduagung Village, Tigaraksa District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. During the operation, police arrested five suspects and seized a number of pieces of evidence. The five arrested suspects have the initials DA, FS, A, MD, and D. In addition to apprehending the suspects, officers also confiscated six stolen motorcycles from the raid location. The Head of Criminal Investigation for the Tangerang City Metro Police, Adjunct Senior Commissioner Parikhesit, revealed that the case came to light following a report from a victim named Nico Arvendo. The victim reported the loss of his Honda Beat motorcycle in the Teluknaga area, Tangerang Regency. “Following an investigation, officers received information about a rented house strongly suspected of being a storage place for stolen motorcycles. Once the information was validated, we immediately conducted further development and a raid,” said Parikhesit on Tuesday (9/6). From the search of the location, police found various tools used by the perpetrators to carry out their actions. The seized evidence includes various tools. Based on preliminary examination results, the perpetrators confessed to having acted dozens of times in the Tangerang Regency and City areas. Currently, the police are still pursuing other members of the network who remain at large. The Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari, stressed that this success is part of his institution’s commitment to eradicating street crime that disturbs the community, particularly motor vehicle theft. “This is a form of our commitment to eradicating street crime. We also thank the public for providing accurate information, so that this network which has been operating in Tangerang for a long time could be uncovered,” asserted Senior Commissioner Jauhari.
