Police raided a rented property used by a motorcycle theft syndicate in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java. Five people were arrested in the operation.

“Bareskrim Polri’s Resmob team, together with the Cileungsi Police operational team, detained five people suspected of being involved in a motor vehicle theft network in the Cileungsi area,” Cileungsi Police Chief Commissioner Edison said on Thursday (8 October 2026).

The raid took place in Bojong Kulur Village, Gunung Putri district. Police also seized a number of items as evidence.

“During the operation, officers seized several pieces of evidence, including a T-shaped key, a magnetic key, four machetes, an item suspected to have been used to consume crystal methamphetamine, and a motorcycle allegedly used by the suspects,” he said.

Edison said the five suspects had different roles in the thefts, ranging from carrying out the thefts to receiving stolen vehicles.

“Based on preliminary questioning, the five suspects are believed to have had different roles in the operation. These included acting as the thieves who took the vehicles, motorcycle riders who assisted them, and receivers,” he said.

The five suspects have been taken to a police station for further proceedings. The police investigation is ongoing.
