Police Raid Mataram Drug Den, Arrest 19 Men
Police raided a drug den in Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and arrested 19 men. They seized 4.74 grammes of suspected methamphetamine during the operation.
Mataram City Police Narcotics Investigation Unit chief AKP Abisatya Darma Wiryatmaja said the raid took place in Karang Bagu, Karang Taliwang sub-district, Cakranegara district, Mataram, on Friday (16 October 2026).
“We searched seven locations in the operation. We detained 19 people and seized a number of items, including 4.74 grammes of suspected methamphetamine,” Abisatya said on Saturday (17 October 2026).
The raid followed information received by police. Officers initially detained one person strongly suspected of being a drug dealer.
“Further investigation revealed other suspects believed to be a drug kingpin or supplier. Their initial statements provided information about additional suspects,” he said.
Based on that information, officers expanded the investigation and searched several locations in Karang Bagu, Karang Taliwang sub-district.
The 19 people detained have been taken to Mataram City Police headquarters for further questioning.
“We will investigate to determine each person’s role,” he said.
Abisatya said legal proceedings would be pursued against suspects proven to have acted as suppliers or kingpins, dealers or drug couriers. Those found to be users only would undergo rehabilitation.
“Suspects proven to be users will be referred to the Mataram City National Narcotics Agency for rehabilitation in accordance with the regulations,” he said.
