Police Raid Luxury Home, Restaurant, and Money Changer, Here's What Commission 3 Says

A member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Nasyirul Falah Amru (Gus Falah), has expressed his support for the National Police’s efforts to investigate alleged criminal acts of coal corruption, money laundering (TPPU), and bribery that have drawn public attention. According to Gus Falah, law enforcement efforts must be carried out professionally, transparently, and impartially against anyone suspected of involvement in criminal acts. “I fully support the National Police’s steps in investigating alleged corruption related to coal governance, bribery, and money laundering. Law enforcement must be carried out firmly, objectively, and without discrimination. Whoever is involved must be held accountable in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” said Gus Falah in a written statement on Thursday (9/7/2026). The cases currently under investigation include alleged corruption, bribery, and money laundering related to the PLN blackout linked to coal governance, the Asabri case during the 2020–2025 period, and the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI in the 2020–2025 period. In the course of investigating these cases, police investigators conducted searches at Kafe de’Clan Signature and Koin Money Changer. From these activities, investigators seized cash totalling Rp67.5 billion, which is suspected to be connected to the investigation process. Gus Falah assessed that the seizure demonstrates the seriousness of law enforcement officers in tracing the flow of funds suspected to originate from criminal acts. He hopes that the entire series of investigations will be carried out carefully, professionally, and based on valid evidence so as to reveal the responsible parties. “We must give space for investigators to work independently. The most important thing is that the entire process proceeds according to due process of law, is based on evidence, and upholds the principles of justice and legal certainty,” he said. As a member of Commission III of the DPR RI, which oversees law enforcement, Gus Falah stressed that eradicating corruption is an important part of strengthening clean governance and maintaining public trust in state institutions. He also urged all parties to support the law enforcement process and not to intervene in the ongoing investigation. “Corruption is an extraordinary crime that harms the state and society. Therefore, every allegation of corruption must be thoroughly investigated to provide a deterrent effect while strengthening the supremacy of law in Indonesia,” said Gus Falah.
