Police Raid LPG Tampering Den in Bogor, Seize 1,304 Cylinders

Police have raided a shop house suspected of being a location for tampering with liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in Cileungsi Kidul Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor Regency, West Java. Two suspects were arrested and 1,304 cylinders were seized in the raid.

“During the raid, police managed to secure two suspects with the initials MS and RET, who acted as doctors or gas injectors,” said Cileungsi Police Chief Commissioner Edison on Saturday (25/7/2026).

The raid was conducted on Thursday (23/7/2026). Commissioner Edison explained that the two suspects transferred the contents of subsidised 3kg LPG cylinders into non-subsidised 12kg cylinders to be resold for profit.

“Besides apprehending the suspects, police also found various pieces of evidence used in the tampering activity, including digital scales, gas injection tools, and remnants of rubber used in the gas transfer process,” he clarified.

From the location, police seized a total of 1,304 LPG cylinders. Officers also secured operational vehicles believed to have been used by the suspects.

“Officers seized 1,304 LPG cylinders, 56 iron gas connectors, two refrigerators, one digital scale, one four-wheeled vehicle, as well as plastic seals for 12kg LPG cylinders and plastic seals for 3kg LPG cylinders suspected to have been used in the tampering practice,” he detailed.

Currently, the suspects along with the evidence have been taken to the police station. Investigators are continuing to probe the case further.

“All suspects and evidence have been brought to the Cileungsi Police Headquarters to undergo investigation and further case development,” he concluded.
