Police Raid Drug Laboratory in Tangerang, One Foreign National Arrested

TANGERANG – A hidden laboratory, or clandestine lab, producing Group II narcotics of the type etomidate was raided by police in an apartment in the River Side area, Tangerang Regency. The raid, conducted on Friday (17/4/2026) around 19:00 WIB, resulted in the arrest of a Malaysian national with the initials CK (40). “His role was as the manager and operator of the production of etomidate liquid in the form of vape cartridges,” said the Director of Narcotics Investigation at Metro Jaya Police, Senior Commissioner Pol Ahmad David, in a written statement on Tuesday (21/4/2026), quoted from Antara. From the location, police seized several pieces of evidence, including 30 litres of propylene glycol liquid, as well as 2,539.44 grams of etomidate powder. This amount is estimated to be able to produce around 380,996 ready-to-market vape cartridges. “In addition, hundreds of cartridges containing etomidate liquid were secured, along with production equipment such as a press machine, liquid injection syringes, a mixer, and scales,” said David. “Currently, the suspect and the evidence have been brought to the Metro Jaya Police Narcotics Directorate headquarters for further investigation purposes,” David added.
