Cirebon City Police have again thwarted the distribution of unauthorized prescription drugs. During this operation, officers apprehended a man identified as AM, alias A (29), at a house in Astanajapura District, Cirebon Regency. Cirebon City Police Commissioner Imara Utama explained that the arrest of the suspect on Thursday (28 May 2026) followed an investigation. ‘Officers conducted a raid after receiving accurate information about suspected illegal pharmaceutical distribution in the Astanajapura area,’ said Commissioner Imara Utama on Friday (29 May 2026). During the search, the team found hundreds of ready-to-distribute strong medications and seized them, including 437 tramadol tablets, 412 trihexyphenidyl tablets, and some cash suspected to be transaction proceeds. Based on initial questioning, AM, a private sector employee, admitted that all the prescription drugs belonged to him. He obtained the illegal substances by purchasing them from someone known as AZ to resell to customers without authorization. AM and all evidence have been taken to the Cirebon City Police Narcotics Unit for further investigation and legal proceedings. He is charged under Article 435 and/or Article 436(1) and (2) of Law No. 17 of 2023 on Health, as amended by Law No. 1 of 2026 on Penalty Adjustments. The Narcotics Unit is currently expanding the investigation to track down the main supplier of illegal pharmaceuticals.
