Police raid car wash-cum-karaoke bar

BEKASI: Police have arrested five employees of a karaoke bar
disguised as a car wash and garage on Jl. Kalimalang, Bekasi
Barat, late on Wednesday.

The police revealed on Thursday that the owner, who violated
the bylaw on tourism that bans the opening of certain
entertainment venues, including karaoke bars, during Ramadhan,
managed to flee the scene.

A police officer revealed that the raid was made based on a
tip-off from angry residents who had planned to take the law into
their own hands.

The 20 customers in the karaoke bar immediately left the
premises when the police entered. -- JP
