Police Question Three TTU Legislators Over Death of Doctor Icha
The East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police have questioned three members of the Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) regarding the death of Dr Eliza Princila Utami Pakaenoni, known as Icha. Police also summoned a veterinarian from the TTU Livestock Service for questioning. The three TTU DPRD members are Therezius Lazakar (Golkar Party), Norbertus Tubani (National Awakening Party), Veronika Lake (Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle), and the veterinarian is Maria Mathildis Sau. The four are reported to have allegedly intimidated Dr Icha, causing her to suffer from depression and end her life. The four individuals arrived at the NTT Regional Police Headquarters at approximately 10:40 Central Indonesia Time, accompanied by their legal counsel. The Director of the Women and Children Protection and Public Order Directorate of the NTT Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Nova Irone Surentu, confirmed the examination of the four reported individuals. However, he stated that the handling of the case falls under the General Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimum) of the NTT Regional Police.
