Police question terror suspects
JAKARTA: Police were questioning three suspected militants
over possible links with a fugitive terror mastermind and last
year's bombing outside the Australian Embassy, a police spokesman
said on Wednesday.
The three were detained last week in Central Java province and
were being interrogated in Jakarta, said Jakarta Police spokesman
Sr. Comr. Ketut Untung Yoga. He identified the three as
Fathurahman, Buhori and Yasin al-Reza. They have not been
charged.
Ketut said the men were being questioned over possible links
with alleged terror boss Noordin M. Top, as well as the 2004
Australian Embassy car bombing, which killed 11 people. They can
be held for seven days before police have to charge or release
them.
Indonesian courts have convicted six militants for their role
in the Sept. 9 bombing. Two have been sentenced to death. -- AP
