Police are continuing their investigation into a public complaint against YouTuber Muhammad Jannah, alias Bigmo, following his act of involving children in promoting vape liquid during a live stream on his YouTube channel. To date, investigators have taken statements from the parents and the children featured in the video.

Head of Public Relations for Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that on 2 August, investigators conducted a clarification with TP. Subsequently, on 3 August 2026, investigators visited a location in South Jakarta suspected of being connected to the incident.

“On the same day (3 August), investigators also took statements from the parents and four children who appeared in the video, accompanied by their respective parents,” Budi said in a statement on Tuesday (4/8).

As part of the investigation, officers also visited the office of PT TLI in North Jakarta. The purpose was to request information and conduct an in-depth review of documents related to the working relationship between the company and Bigmo.

“The statements and documents obtained are still being examined as part of the investigation process,” Budi stated.

Budi added that investigators are also continuing to analyse the digital material that has been acquired. This includes recordings of the live stream, video clips, recordings suspected of being related to the promotion of TL products, and screenshots of the broadcast.

“Investigators will next take a statement from F as a witness, invite PT TLI to provide information regarding the working relationship with MJ, conduct a clarification with the reported party, and coordinate with experts to complete the investigation process,” he said.

YouTuber Bigmo was previously reported to the Directorate of PPA-PPO at Polda Metro Jaya for allegedly involving several minors in promoting vape liquid through a live streaming broadcast.

Meanwhile, Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid stated that practices exploiting children to promote products not intended for them constitute a serious violation and cannot be tolerated.

“Children must be protected from all forms of exploitation in the digital space. Content involving children to promote vape products clearly contradicts the spirit of child protection and has no place on digital platforms,” Meutya said in a statement on Sunday (2/8).

On the other hand, Bigmo has issued an apology for his actions through a video uploaded to his YouTube account, Niceguymo.

“I am Muhammad Janah, also known as Bigmo. Through this video, I wish to convey my sincerest apologies for my actions and words that have caused a commotion in recent days. I acknowledge that what I did was a mistake and cannot be justified,” he said.
