Police Question Influencer Awkarin in Hanania Travel Umrah Fraud Case

Investigators from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police have questioned celebrity influencer Karin Novilda, known as Awkarin, as a witness in the alleged fraud and embezzlement case involving umrah travel funds by PT Khazanah Tamma Internasional, operating as Hanania Group. The examination took place on Monday, 15 June, after several rescheduled appointments. “After several summons, the schedule was rescheduled, and today she was present at 4:30 PM,” said a police spokesperson. The police are continuing to gather witness statements and are exploring the possibility of additional suspects. The company’s president director, Ahmad Syah Farhan, has already been named a suspect and detained. Preliminary investigations indicate that funds collected from prospective pilgrims were used for purposes unrelated to their departure, including payments to several influencers for promoting the umrah packages.
