BEKASI – Police have questioned multiple witnesses in connection with an alleged robbery that claimed the life of EU (65) and left his wife, PW (60), in critical condition. The incident took place at Prima Lingkar Asri Housing Complex, Block B4 No 14, Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, on Monday, 2 March 2026.

AKP Imam Prakoso, Head of Criminal Robbery Section at Bekasi Metro Police, stated that five individuals have been questioned at Pondok Gede Police Station.

“Currently, five witnesses are still being questioned at the police station,” Imam said when contacted on Monday.

Imam revealed that the five witnesses comprise relatives of the victims, a domestic assistant, a complex security officer, and the victims’ neighbours.

Meanwhile, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Bekasi Metro Police and the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Robbery Section have confiscated several pieces of evidence from the scene, including the victims’ mattress and sheets bearing blood traces.

“We are currently securing the mattress with bloodstains and other items showing indication. We are still gathering and documenting evidence,” said Kompol Andi Muhammad Iqbal, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit at Bekasi Metro Police, at the scene.

Andi stated that preliminary findings point towards robbery as the suspected crime. However, police are still investigating the precise motive behind the case.

“The investigation is ongoing and we cannot draw conclusions yet. But according to the victims’ son, a gold bracelet from his mother’s hand went missing, and both vehicle keys disappeared,” Andi said.

Nevertheless, both of the victims’ vehicles remain neatly parked in the garage, and the charging unit for the electric vehicle remains connected.

According to initial medical examination results, both victims sustained injuries from blunt force trauma to the back of the head.

The body of EU has been taken to Polri Kramat Jati Hospital for autopsy procedures. Meanwhile, PW is receiving intensive care at Primaya Hospital.

Andi added that the investigation involves personnel from Pondok Gede Police Station, Bekasi Metro Police, and the Metro Jaya Regional Police’s Robbery Section to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motive behind the alleged robbery.
