Police Question Employer in Investigation of Two Maids Jumping from 4th Floor of Boarding House
Police have examined the employer of two domestic workers (PRT) with initials R and D who desperately jumped from the fourth floor of a boarding house in the Benhil area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta.
The Head of Criminal Investigation at the Central Jakarta Metro Police Resort, AKBP Roby Saputra, stated that the employer of the two PRT was questioned on Thursday (23/4) last.
“Yes, that’s correct (the employer has been examined),” said Roby when confirmed, Friday (24/4).
Nevertheless, Roby has not yet explained the results of the examination in detail. Because, he said, the employer was examined by investigators from the Metro Jaya Police’s Ditreskrimum.
“Examined at Ditkrimum of the Metro Jaya Police. Currently (the case handling) is still at the police sector, it may later be taken over by the Police Region,” he explained.
Two domestic workers (PRT) are suspected of jumping from the fourth floor of a boarding house in the Benhil area, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (22/4) night. One of the PRT was reported dead in the incident.
From preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the two PRT desperately jumped because they were unhappy with their work and wanted to escape.
“The person reportedly was not comfortable. Then she escaped with one witness. So both jumped from the fourth floor. One died, one has a broken arm,” said Roby to reporters on Thursday (23/4).
Still from the statement of the surviving victim, they claimed to be uncomfortable because their employer was fierce. However, Roby said, this still needs further investigation.
“Yes, fierce, fierce. That’s it, cruel, fierce. Well, that could be with words, could be with actions. We don’t know yet because the examination is not finished,” he stated.
