East Jakarta Metropolitan Police District’s Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Bayu Kurniawan, stated on Monday that authorities will intensify investigations and question additional witnesses, including those from the Islamic Center Bekasi venue where the wedding took place.

The inquiry aims to trace the payment trail for the venue previously booked by the victim. According to the victim, the wedding organizer Marwah allegedly only paid a deposit and has not settled the full venue fee.

“Based on the victim’s information, Marwah’s catering service only paid the deposit to the venue and has not completed the full payment,” Bayu said.

He added that statements from the venue management will be crucial in uncovering the alleged fraud reported by the victim.

“We have interviewed the victim and one witness who is Feni’s sibling. Three people in total have been interviewed,” Bayu explained.

Police also visited Marwah’s office in Jakarta Garden City (JGC), Cakung, East Jakarta, but found it had ceased operations.

“Our officers checked the WO Marwah office in JGC, and it is currently closed,” Bayu said.

The site visit was to confirm the office’s status and gather additional evidence for the investigation.

Police confirmed the probe continues, collecting evidence, interviewing more witnesses, and investigating potential other victims in similar cases.
