Police Pursue Two Suspects in Bandung Package Courier Robbery

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID BANDUNG – The Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of the Bandung Police is still pursuing two suspects in the robbery of a package courier that occurred on Jalan Maksudi, Panjunan Village, Astanaanyar District, Bandung City, in early May 2026. Two other suspects, identified as R and RR, have already been apprehended.

AKBP Anton, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bandung Police, stated that Hasan Al Nazhari (25 years old), the package courier, was taking shelter by the side of a house on Jalan Maksudi on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Suddenly, a group of robbers approached him and immediately threatened him with a knife, causing him to flee.

“There were four perpetrators, one of whom initially asked for a plastic bag. However, he then threatened the victim with a knife,” he said on Friday, May 15, 2026.

He explained that the perpetrators stole the victim’s motorcycle and packages before fleeing. Officers, upon receiving the report, immediately pursued the perpetrators and managed to apprehend two of them.

“At that time, two perpetrators, with the initials R (25 years old) and RR (19 years old), were apprehended,” he said.

The police seized the motorcycle used by the perpetrators and the knife used to threaten the victim. They have charged the suspects under Article 365 of the Criminal Code, which carries a maximum sentence of 9 years in prison.

He stated that they are still pursuing the other two suspects. The stolen motorcycle and packages were taken by the two suspects.

“The other two are still being pursued by officers. The stolen items were taken by the two suspects,” he said. He denied reports circulating on social media that one of the perpetrators had died.
