Jakarta — The West Jakarta Metro Police provided health services to flood-affected residents at an evacuation centre in Duri Kosambi, Cengkareng district.

During the activity held on Sunday evening (8 March), officers provided general treatment services, distributed vitamins, and delivered trauma counselling to flood-affected residents.

“A total of 17 residents underwent health check-ups,” said AKP Ns Agus Waluyo, Head of Health Services at West Jakarta Metro Police, when reached for comment in Jakarta on Monday.

The most common health complaints amongst residents included itching, acute respiratory infections (ISPA), hypertension, and back pain.

Agus stated that post-disaster health services were expected to help restore residents’ physical health whilst providing psychological support to the affected community.

In addition, the police also distributed vitamins to 15 people and herbal drinks to 10 residents.

“This helps maintain their immune system in the midst of the flood-affected environmental conditions,” he said.

Trauma counselling services, Agus noted, were primarily directed towards children experiencing psychological stress from the flooding.
