Police Propose Rp66 Trillion Budget Increase for 2027, Total to Reach Rp118 Trillion

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) has proposed an additional budget of Rp66.1 trillion, bringing its total allocation for the 2027 fiscal year to Rp118 trillion. The proposal was submitted by Deputy Chief of Police Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo during a working meeting with House of Representatives Commission III at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/6).

“Therefore, when compared to the indicative ceiling for the 2027 fiscal year, there remains a shortfall of Rp66.1 trillion,” Dedi stated in his presentation. He explained that the proposed increase is intended to meet the police force’s ideal budget requirement of Rp184 trillion, a slight decrease from the Rp187 trillion budgeted for 2026.

Dedi noted that the total budget figure for 2027 had been calculated taking into account increases in fuel prices and the current rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar. “After rationalisation based on the rise in fuel prices and the current rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar, the ideal budget requirement for Polri in the 2027 fiscal year amounts to Rp184 trillion,” he said.

He added that the additional budget request had already been formally submitted to the Ministry of Finance and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) via a letter from the National Police Chief, numbered B 10413 VI 2026, dated 15 June 2026. The proposed increase is to be allocated across several sectors: Rp4.5 trillion for personnel expenditure, Rp20.9 trillion for goods expenditure, and Rp40.6 trillion for capital expenditure.
